Aranya Solutions' purpose is to enrich the quality of life within targeted economically challenged and developing areas. Aranya Solutions develops systematic changes with a focus on localization serving as a bridge to resources and providing necessary infrastructure. Our method is to assist communities to implement environmentally friendly building and agricultural methods, life skills workshops, local business development, leadership training, education initiatives, and capacity building.
Aranya means "Bountiful Forest" in Sanskrit. It signifies plentitude, generosity, resources, and prosperity. We believe there are enough resources to go around and we can help identify the resources for abundance, pollinate like bees!

Aranya is devoted to the betterment of community and ecology with a depth of understanding that evokes sympathy, kindness, and generosity. This nonprofit was formed to fill an important niche of working directly with the community in collaboration with local organizations and providing leadership development skills for long term public health and sustainability. The purpose of having a nonprofit in the USA is to raise funds from the States to bring to places that are in greater need, as a direct channel for fundraising efforts for maximum impact.
Aranya Solutions is a nonprofit registered in the state of Montana 2018 and we are recognized as a 501 (c) (3) organization. We formed a nonprofit to serve the under served, starting our work in Nepal after seeing the needs for more support on the ground and for fundraising. Aranya Solutions serves organizations and communities dedicated to making the world a better place. We create and facilitate strategies for efficiency.
We successfully completed the needs assessment for the Digam Village Community Development project in the Fall of 2017. We developed a calendar of activities for 2018 for programs to meet the needs of the village assessed. We identified programs for the next 4 years for agriculture, education, health, leadership and community development.
Katrina is a Rotarian and has the confidence, experience, administrative and advanced emotional intelligence skills to make this project work. She brings a new perspective to a whole village solution with a Master’s degree in Organization Development and over 15 years of community development, event planning and sustainability experience. Katrina likes to be involved in programs that have an impact. When she worked at Disney developing Environmental Policies company-wide she created a communications channel for every business unit in this global company to receive the information in a way that was tangible and easy to implement. As an American dedicated to this village rebuilding program, she has established connections and far greater access to raise funds. With her involvement, there will be greater access to resources and specialists for initiating the identified programs. Katrina has a strong relationship with Digam Village and the Host Rotary Club in Nepal and is in regular communication with all involved. The Relief Trust appreciates her experience and work style. There is a shared vision and values on community development, which precipitated an invitation to direct this program with the local Nepali partners. These are special connections with good people that she is delighted to maintain and expand. Katrina fills the role of bridge building, partnership development, Village Community Council organization, and the formation of the projects for the Community Center. Lastly, she is committed to fundraising.
Carlos is a renaissance person: he's an entrepreneur, musician, clown, full stack web developer, and visionary. He lives in Portland Oregon, where he's part of Tryon Life Community, a sustainability education center, he also performs and teaches music in the community. At Aranya Solutions he is joyful to weave together his varied experiences: The leadership and operations skills he learned at JFK University's IEL program, the relationship tending skills from managing a multi employee music tutoring business, the coding prowess from going to a PHP/Drupal/MySQL coding bootcamp and discipline of having worked at a fast-passed Portland tech startup. Carlos wants to use his skills to positively change the world and believes that with a combination of leapfrogging, open source software, consensus and NVC based social ecology, and indigenous natural building and homesteading techniques we can truly create a world in harmony with the biosphere.
Sarala Tiwari is a freelance advisor for developmental works in Nepal. Born in a traditional family in a rural village of Nepal, she grew up challenging many boundaries that keep women from going after their dreams. She graduated from college with a Social Work degree in 2015. She is persuing her Master’s degree in Rural Development.
She worked as a Community Development Worker and a board member at GHN (Good Health Nepal) for 2 years starting from 2012. She has closely worked with local youth, women and children for collective community development.
She is inspired to help minority groups who have very little or no rights and have limited access to education, clean drinking water, and healthcare services.

Barry Cogbill, International Projects Chair for the Rotary Club of Santa Rosa East in California, helps support the fundraising efforts and supplies knowledge and resources for this project.
Through his involvement in Rotary International, Barry collaborates on humanitarian based solar projects in Africa, Nepal, and now Puerto Rico.
Barry is an clean energy consultant, regarded for his solar and energy efficiency expertise, collaboration with government and industry specialists and excellence in managing and implementing clean energy projects. Barry is an energy writer, speaker and educator.
It is his priority to bring clean energy resources to Digam Village in subsequent scopes of work, utilizing the power of Rotary International’s Global Grants program.
Kathia Castro Laszlo, Ph.D. is Principal and Chief Creative Officer of Magenta Wisdom, offering executive
coaching, consulting, design and facilitation services to leaders and organizations committed to develop
their collaborative leadership and innovation capacities for social impact.
Kathia designs and facilitates strategic and learning processes that lead to organizational effectiveness,
cultural healing and regeneration. She believes that “sustainability is an inside job” and her work on
evolutionary leadership develops individual and collective capacities on systems thinking, feeling, and
being for transformation from the inside out.
Kathia has been a faculty member in academic and professional development programs including Saybrook University, Meridian University, and the Cross Sector Leadership programs of the Presidio Institute. She has taught leadership, organizational development and strategy in the sustainability MBA programs of Presidio Graduate School (San Francisco), Bainbridge Graduate Institute (Seattle), Dominican University of California (San Francisco), EGADE Business School (Mexico), and Universidad del Medio Ambiente (Mexico).
Kathia is the co-founder of Syntony Quest, Global Leadership Lab, and The Journey Network and has been advisor to multiple educational enterprises including Mycelium School and Novamaya University. She is in the early stages of creating an institute exploring the intersection of money, love and meaning. Her work integrates feminine, multicultural and experiential ways of knowing and relating. She is an explorer of ethical business and organizational models and – through her understanding of adult learning, group creativity, mindfulness and dialogue – she has facilitated numerous transformational processes in business, academic, nonprofit and community contexts in North America, Latin America and Europe. She is working on her book Education at the Edge of Possibility which is the result of 20 years of research and experience on the design of evolutionary learning communities.
Kathia is from Monterrey, Mexico where she earned a BA in Marketing and a M.Ed. in Cognitive Development. She came to the US as a Fulbright Scholar to earn her PhD in Human Science with specialization in social and institutional change at Saybrook University. Kathia is a certified executive coach in the Leadership Circle ProfileTM and is fully fluent in English and Spanish. She is a mother, yoga practitioner, Reiki master, and nature lover and shares her perspectives through her blog www.magentawisdom.net
